Here at Sack Me! we have a whooping 5% male subscribers (we love all 5% of you!) and this post is especially for all you amazing men, dad's, grandad's, brothers and father figures out there celebrating Father's Day today! We're so privileged to have the opportunity to share an interview with an amazing husband and father; Rodrigo "Roddy" Vargas. Roddy has had an outstanding football (soccer) career and is mostly known for his time at Melbourne Victory and at Melbourne Knights, where he was club captain. His career has spanned over 20 years and he is currently working at a school running a football program. More importantly, Roddy is a dotting dad to Luella Love (age 5) and newborn Lilah Amor. We came to know Roddy through his Mrs.' beautiful instagram account @yvettevargas (gotta love instagram for it's ability to connect people and build friendships) and from the little snippets that Yvette shares about her wonderful husband here, here and here we are so privileged to be able to find out a bit more about him ourselves.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born in Melbourne to Chilean parents and raised in Elwood. I've been lucky enough to have played football (soccer) and call it my job for over 20 years. I also work at a school, running a football program.

 

 

 

Roddy vs. Beckham - tell us what it was like playing against David?
Like the rest of my team I thought it was amazing to be playing against him. I also couldn't resist the op to get a selfie with him. Hahaha!
